Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners is seeking a new home in a more accessible location. Our library requires a minimum of ~500 square feet but we would also be open to a larger space. Must have air conditioning.
Do you know any local groups that might be interested in renting space? Do you have any advice on commercial real estate, which is something we know absolutely nothing about whatsoever? I only know how to send people books and update websites. Please help.
In honor of Independent Bookstore Day, a donor is matching purchases of books for Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners through our wishlist at Tubby & Coo’s Mid City Bookshop, dollar for dollar up to $1000! Support our mission to send books to those inside AND support our local bookstore! April 28th-May 1st through this linkonly.
*Please have books shipped to us as noted on the wishlist page.
We are continuing to send out books, but our worknights are suspended until further notice due to Coronavirus. Please do not donate books at the book drop or attempt to come volunteer. We miss you and we hope to see you soon!
Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners is taking steps to protect the health of our volunteers and collective members in our small, crowded space. But we are still sending books!
We will not be hosting our regular walk-in worknights and instead will work with a few regular volunteers to continue operating in a capacity that limits risk. We will post an update when walk-in work nights are back on.
