Book Donation Guidelines and Instructions

Notice:

LAB2P is not accepting used book donations at this time. We can accept books off our wishlist below but please do NOT leave books at our space or try to come to volunteer nights. No one will be there to let you inside or sort the books.

No, sorry, even if you email us about it.

No, we don’t know when we will reopen fully, but we are working on it.

We know– we miss you, too.

There is a list of other nonprofits who are accepting donations below.

Other Places to Donate Books:

If you are looking for another home in New Orleans for a bunch of books, we suggest the Little Free Libraries, the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library, or the UNO Symphony book sale. SisterHearts Thrift Store in New Orleans East is also a good option– it’s run by formerly incarcerated women (and also they have some really good stuff there– you should check it out). You can also contact One Book One New Orleans to see if they are accepting donations for their projects, including the library at OPP.

If you’re open to sending books to another book group like ours, check out the National Prisoner to Prisoners Program List maintained by the Prison Book Program in Boston. We are just one of many orgs sending books to incarcerated people.
